PRO DV secures new orders for environment portfolio

Dortmund, April 26, 2007

PRO DV intensifies the cooperation with the Chemical Park Marl.

A few days ago, the local operator of the Chemical Park Marl, the Infracor GmbH, charged PRO DV with the expansion of the environment data management system ecoGuard. PRO DV Software AG is operating already for more than ten years in the environment and immission control, and continuously expands expertise and business in this field. Already more than ten German Federal States and several industrial companies work with PRO DV environment and facility information systems.

Since 2004, the Chemical Park is utilising the web-based application ecoGuard for the company environment data management and the environment report. ecoGuard is the data platform regarding air-emissions, sewerage data and parameter, and the information on contingency-relevant substances. The application is inter-location and multi-client enabled, facilitating an easy integration of upstreamed systems. Official systems like the AIS-I-operator’s version and EEOnline are provided through export interfaces.

The reasons for the expansion of the existing system are the requirements of the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR). The Infracor GmbH is preparing to provide, as from this year, a yearly report on the release of substances to air, water, and land, and on the transfer of wastes. The obligation to this was resoluted by the so-called "PRTR Protocol" on May 21st, 2003, in Kiev, led by Germany, 35 other states, and the EU.

Besides the Infracor environment team, the 'franchising’ department will also be supported by the ecoGuard in the future. The facility data combined with the licensing and proceeding data form the ideal base for an optimised application, as well as for the requirements’ and dates’ monitoring.

The Infracor GmbH, a 100 percent Degussa affiliate (today RAG Group), offers with the Chemical Park Marl a comprehensive portfolio of services around operations of chemical process facilities. With the expansion of ecoGuard, the company assures conformity with the official requirements, and improves simultaneously the efficiency in data acquisition and
provision. A further benefit is that ecoGuard includes, besides the environment-relevant aspects, also wide information about important infrastructural details (e.g. description, quantity and storage of toxic, explosive and combustible substances etc.). Thereby results in turn the possibility to connect further systems like e.g. the PRO DV emergency prevention software deNIS
IIplus. The plant fire brigade of the Chemical Park Marl is already connected through an interface to the ecoGuard.

The environment and immission control matters nowadays more than ever due to climate changes. "We have to assure that we are able to implement official changes on environment protection fast and efficiently,“ declares Mr. Böttcher, Director of the Environment Data Register of the local operator Infracor. "With PRO DV, we have found a partner who provides competent and reliable consulting and support, so that we will meet also future requirements flexibly and efficiently."
