The master agreement concluded in August 2006 between PRO DV Software AG and the German Federal Government will be renewed for two further years.
The cooperation between the BBK – the German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance - and PRO DV Software AG for a further development and expansion of the communication and information system deNIS IIplus will be continued. So the German emergency prevention information system deNIS IIplus, developed by PRO DV, which is already the IT solution in civil protection in Germany, will keep on winning stronger importance. The aim is to further expand with this IT system the level crossing network of all action forces in civil protection, in order to support the coordination of assistance potentials on large-area perils.
The two years’ extension of the master agreement and maintenance contract shows that PRO DV is in full confidence of the users of the German Federal Government and the different Federal States. deNIS IIplus will be further developed in a constructive and confident cooperation between the BBK and PRO DV Software AG.
After the successful implementation of deNIS IIplus in 2006, today all situation rooms of the Federal Ministry and the respective Ministries of the Interior of the different Federal States are connected to the system. After joining the master agreement, the Federal States Hamburg and Saxony-Anhalt set up own deNIS IIplus authorities and use the IT system for Germany-wide peril operations or big social events.
The Federal States-wide command post exercise LÜKEX, hold in November 2007, which was IT technically supported with the deNIS IIplus add-on deNIS IIÜSA, was a complete success and attracted also a great international interest. The extremely short development and implementation phase for the provision of the application deNIS IIÜSA could only be mastered due to a close and confident cooperation between PRO DV Software AG and the BBK.
Since autumn 2007, the “deNIS IIplus competence centre”, managed by the BBK, intensively works on establishing standards for the data exchange and the further development of deNIS IIplus. Especially the ergonomic revision and the functional expansion of the application aim an improved integration of the IT system into emergency situation processes for an optimal operation in cases of perils.
